You can clear the XP security log from the command line.

Windows XP automatically creates logs of most of the events that take place on the computer for later review. The logs are stored in different categories including "Application," "Event" and "Security." The security log contains, among other details, both successful and unsuccessful attempts to log in to the computer. If you need to clear the Windows XP security log, perhaps because it has become too large and you are beginning to see error messages, you can do so from the command line.
