How to Load Apple Ringtones
Purchased ringtones from the iTunes Store are exclusively for the iPhone and must be synced to your iPhone through the iTunes program to load them on the phone and set them as the default ringtone for incoming calls or a specific contact. According to Apple, ringtones purchased from the iTunes application on your iPhone are automatically available for default or specific contact configuration and require an iTunes account as well as the latest iPhone operating system software update.

- iPhone OS 2.0 or later software update
- iPhone USB cable

Open the iTunes program on your computer and plug the dock connector end of the iPhone USB cable into the bottom of the iPhone.

Plug the remaining end of the cable into the USB port on your computer and select the iPhone icon in the iTunes source pane. Select the "Ringtones" tab in the main window and select "Sync Ringtones."

Click the "Apply" button to sync ringtones in your iTunes library to your iPhone and click the Eject button on the iPod icon in the iTunes source pane to remove the phone from your computer.

Tap the "Settings" icon on your iPhone's home screen and select the "Sounds" tab.

Select "Ringtone" and tap the recently synced ringtone from the list. Press the "Home" button to return to the iPhone's home screen.

Tap the "Phone" icon on the home screen and tap "Contacts" at the bottom of the screen.

Select the contact name you want to assign a ringtone to and select the "Edit" button in the upper-right corner.

Tap the Ringtone tab and tap the ringtone you wish to assign to the contact. Select the "Info" tab in the upper-left corner of the screen and tap "Done" in the upper-right corner of the screen.
