How to Dye Your Hair With Kool Aid

Things You'll Need
- Petroleum jelly
- Rag
- Soap
- Hair bleach
- Bowl
- Unsweetened Kool-Aid packets
- Water
- Conditioner
- Coloring brush
- Plastic wrap
- Tape

Protect your skin from getting dyed by using petroleum jelly. Dip your finger into the jelly and spread it on your forehead, neck, ears and hairline to keep it from getting stained with Kool-Aid. After you have finished dyeing your hair, you can remove the jelly with a warm rag dipped in a soapy water solution.

Bleach or lighten your hair as desired. If you do not have blonde or light-colored hair, it may be hard to see the Kool-Aid dye. Consider using a bleach or color fixing solution to lighten your hair and prepare it for dying. Bleaching also helps the hair become more porous and absorb more color.

Empty several Kool-Aid packets into a small bowl. The more packets you use, the more vibrant your hair color will be. Sprinkle in several drops of cold water to create a paste. The ratio should be approximately one tablespoon of color to every teaspoon of water. Add a few drops of color-safe conditioner.
