Forcing an interception in "Madden" can shift the momentum of the game and force an offense to shy away from the passing game. The more talented the defender and the better position you are in, the more likely you are to pull off the interception. You can attempt an interception either by pressing a button while in a strategic position on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, or by making a gesture on the Nintendo Wii using the Wii controller.

Position the defensive player you are controlling as close to the offensive player as possible. Avoid making contact with the offensive player, as this could incur a pass interference penalty, which would negate an interception.

Move the defensive player toward where the ball is heading when you are in the vicinity of the offensive player.

Press and hold the "Y" button if you are playing on the Xbox 360 or the triangle button if you are playing on the PlayStation 3 as the ball arrives. Alternatively, if you are playing on the Wii, push the top part of the Wii controller up and then quickly pull it toward you. Your player will go for the interception rather than just swatting the ball.

Warnings

If you miss the interception and the offensive player makes the catch, it is much more difficult for the defensive player to recover and make the tackle.
