Just after have your ears pierced, you must keep the starter earrings in your ears for several weeks while the piercings heal. While your ears are healing, you must also keep them impeccably clean to avoid infection. Instructions

      Grasp the front portion of the earring with the thumb and index finger of one hand.

      Hold the removable back portion of the earring with the thumb and index finger of your other hand.

      Pull both hands in opposite directions gently to remove the earring from your ear. As you pull, you should feel slight resistance on the back portion of the earring as it slides from the earring post. Continue pulling until you pull the back completely off the post of the earring.

      Place the back onto the earring post to prevent losing it.

      Repeat the process with the other ear.

Tips & Warnings

  • For hoop or wire earrings, gently disengage the clip holding the earring wire in your ear (usually by pinching the wire slightly). Pull the end of the wire out of the clip and slide the end out of your piercing hole to remove it.

  • If your ear is infected, sometimes an earring back embeds itself into the back of your earlobe. If this occurs, you will not be able to remove the earring without substantial pain. Consult a physician.
