How to Install Linksys Router

Linksys wireless routers are commonly found in both home and business settings, and they provide users with the ability to network their computers and share an Internet connection. When installing a Linksys router, you should have some intermediate experience with computers and routers before starting the setup.

Things You'll Need

• Ethernet cable

Instructions

1. Unplug your DSL or cable modem.

2. Attach the modem to your Linksys router via an Ethernet cable.

3. Plug in your modem and wait for it to fully power on. Plug in your Linksys router and power it on.

4. Power off the computer(s) that you intend to connect to the router. Attach them to the router via Ethernet cables and then power on the computers. The computers will automatically detect that they are connected to a router.
