How to Stop Unsolicited Catalog Mailings
Landfills are filled with catalogs people never ordered or wanted. Over 100 billion pieces of pieces of junk mail are delivered each year, which translates to about 800 pieces per household. Get only the mail you want through a relatively simple process.The FTC has all the details on how to get rid of everything from unwanted email to phone calls.

Look over your mail to see who are the main ones sending you the unwanted catalogs. This will help you set the proper selections later.

Register on the Do Not Mail Website. The information you will need is your name, address, email address (for login purposes), a password you can remember and the security code.

Validate your email address by clicking the email that comes to the account you put in.

Choose among credit card offers, catalogs, magazines or other mail offers.

Click the companies sending catalogs you do not wish to receive. This will take you to a page with the information you need to get off the list. It may be a email address, telephone number or mailing address. If you do not want to contact the company directly, Do Not Mail will do it for you, but they say it will take longer.

Continue through the list to make your selections or select the "Remove All" option if you don't want any catalogs. There is an exception to this in the Tips area.

Tips & Warnings
If you have made a purchase from a company, you will have to contact them directly to get off their mailing list.
If you pay the $1 fee, the removal is valid for five years.
It takes 30 to 90 days to be removed from the list.
