Instructions

-
1
Use sharp scissors to cut a cardboard toilet paper tube into three equal pieces.
-
2
Paint the cardboard rings, inside and out, with acrylic spray paint in red, green, gold or silver. Allow the paint to dry for 20 to 30 minutes.
-
-
3
Spray acrylic sealer on the painted rings to protect the paint and prevent it from rubbing off on napkins. Allow the sealer to dry as directed on the packaging. Drying time will vary by manufacturer.
-
4
Cut three lengths of ribbon measuring about 48 inches, one for each holder. Place a dot of glue on one end of a piece of ribbon and stick it to the inside of one ring. Wrap the ribbon around the tube, leaving a tiny space between each wrap of ribbon to allow the paint to show. Glue the other end of the ribbon to the inside of the napkin ring. Repeat for the other two pieces of cardboard.
-
5
Glue additional embellishments on the napkin rings such as tiny silk flowers, bows or miniature ceramic decorations. These could be Christmas trees, wreaths, ornaments or Santa Claus figures.
