Instructions

    • 1

Get inside the above ground pool while holding the plastic tub and five or more large towels. Hang the towels over the side of the pool so they are accessible later. Be careful as the bottom of above ground pools are often very slick, especially when wet.

    • 2

Scoop and pour out as much of the remaining water as possible using the large plastic tub. Butter tubs are made of thin flexible plastic that can be flattened to the pools floor to scoop more water at once. Optionally a wet/dry shop vacuum can be used to suck out the last bit of water. Leave the vacuum outside the pool and extend the nozzle of the hose into the water.

    • 3

Retrieve the large towels and spread them over any areas of the pool that are still damp. Slide the towels around with your feet until the above ground pool is completely dry. Allow the pool to sit empty in the sun for a couple hours before starting the disassembly or liner replacement so it is able to air out any residual moisture.

Tips & Warnings

  • Above ground pools should not be left empty for the winter as it may cause serious damage to the structure.
