How to Change Your PB Wiki Avatar

PBwiki gets its name from "peanut butter wiki" because the goal was to make creating a wiki as easy as making a peanut butter sandwich. Now called PBworks, it still provides both free and premium easy-to-use collaboration tools for individuals and organizations.

Things You'll Need

• PBworks account
• Internet connection
• Valid e-mail address
• Image to use as an avatar

Instructions

1. Create a PBworks account. You will need to provide your name, e-mail address and a password, then verify your e-mail address by clicking the link that is emailed to you.

2. Create the image you wish to use as your avatar. This image needs to be a .jpg, .png or .gif file and can be no larger than 200 kilobytes. Once you have selected or created the image you are going to use, save it where you can easily find it when it is time to upload your image to PBworks.

3. Log in to PBworks. Immediately after verifying your e-mail address, you are logged in.

4. Click on the "Profile" tab. On the "Your Profile" page, scroll down to the "Profile Picture" section, about midway down the page.

5. Select "Upload your own picture." This will unlock the "Browse" button. Use it to find your image where you saved it earlier. Once you have found the image, select it and then click on the "Open" button. Now click the "Save" button to upload the image. If your picture uploaded properly, you will see this message appear at the top of your profile page: "Saved your profile's picture settings. You might need to refresh your browser to see the changes."

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure the image you use represents you, or your company, in a positive way.

• Your image and information may be visible to others. Don't use a personal image if you don't want someone else to see it.
