Internet Explorer features tabbed browsing, a web browser feature that opens new pages or links in a tab rather than in a new window. Doing so cuts down on the number of open browser windows and consolidates your Internet browsing experience into one window. You can switch through tabs by using keyboard shortcuts or with the use of your mouse. Tabbed browsing also helps in multitasking, as you do not have to switch through multiple open windows to find the information you are looking for.
