How to Send a Cake Online
If you can't be with someone that you care about on a special occasion in his or her life, like a holiday, birthday, wedding or graduation, that doesn't mean that you can't provide the celebratory cake. You can send your good wishes by ordering a cake online. Cakes can be ordered online for any occasion, can be decorated in a variety of different ways, and can be sent to just about any address in the United States.

Open Cakes Across America's shopping page in your Web browser (see Resources).

Click the link for one of the cake categories to see the available options for that category. Cake categories on the Cakes Across America site include traditional or specialty cakes.

Choose the cake that you want to order to go to that cake's page. Customize the cake by selecting the occasion, flavor and frosting color, then enter a cake message. Click the "Add to Cart" button to add the customized cake to your order.

Verify that the order is correct and click "Checkout." Enter the billing information, the shipping information and payment information. Click "Checkout" to process the order and have the cake shipped.

Open the Online Cake Ordering System of the 1-800-Bakery site (see Resources).

Click on the type of cake that you would like to send. Cakes available on the 1-800-Bakery site include cookie cakes, coffee cakes and cheesecakes.

Select the cake that you like from the selection available in the category you chose. The price, serving size and details about the cake display on the page.

Press the "Order Now" button on the cake's page to go to the online ordering system. Select the quantity, see the shipping cost and enter the message that you would like to include on the card sent with the cake.

Click the "Proceed to Checkout" button. Enter the required information into the ordering system, including name and delivery address of the person to whom you want to ship the cake, then enter payment information and confirm the information to have the cake sent.

Go to the USABirthdays cakes ordering system (see Resources).

Choose any of the cakes listed on the "Cakes" page by clicking the icon. Cakes available on the site include birthday cakes, carrot cakes and cupcakes.

Use the pull-down menu to select the quantity that you want to order of each cake. Click "Add to My Shopping Bag" to go to the ordering system.

Click "Add the Recipient" to enter the details for the cake delivery. Pull down the "Delivery Day of the Week" menu to select the date you would like the cake to be delivered. Enter the name and contact information for the person you want to send the cake to, a message for the card, and click "Next."

Confirm the order and enter your payment information. Click "Checkout" and the order is processed.
