Earning RuneScape Gold

Level 65 Woodcutting is suitable for cutting yew logs. All skills have potential for earning large amounts of RuneScape gold except the newest one, dungeoneering. Many of the most profitable skills require at least level 80 to start earning large amounts of cash. Because all of the skills (besides dungeoneering) have potential for making money, pick the one that appeals the most to you and train it almost exclusively. One level-80 skill is better for making money than 20 level-70 skills. The most profitable skill recommended for free RuneScape is woodcutting, and the most profitable one in membership RuneScape is that of hunter.

Merchanting skills turn your gold to great advantage. Once you have a high level stat, you can start earning money. The required level for maximum profit differs from skill to skill. Yew logs can be cut at a reasonably fast rate starting from approximately level 65, while magic logs can be cut profitably starting at level 80 woodcutting. Although players may cut yews at level 60 woodcutting and magic logs at level 75, it is extremely slow, and it is much more efficient to train five levels above the requirement before woodcutting for cash. Making large amounts of money while hunting begins when you can catch dragon implings at level 82 hunter. Mining for cash should be started when level 85 mining is reached, so runite ores can be mined. Earning a profit from smithing is almost impossible until level 90 when you can smith rune scimitars. Training smithing is not recommended because it is extremely slow and it requires large amounts of gold in order to train efficiently.

Once you have around a million gold, you can use the grand exchange to your advantage. Large-scale profits from the grand exchange have been nullified by new RuneScape updates that allowed merchanting clans to manipulate the prices, but merchanting can add still a small amount of cash to your bank at a steady rate. Merchanting is based on the simple idea of "buy low and sell high." Treasure trail items such as god armor are the best for merchanting as the people who earn them usually sell them at the minimum price and people who buy them often buy them for the maximum. To take advantage of this, buy them at 10k above their minimum price and sell them at 10k below to account for fluctuations in price and to beat out other people who are trying to merchant that item as well. This process is almost completely autonomous and only requires a few clicks every day or two to maintain it. Merchantable items for free players includes all god armor, and for members, barrows armor and other rare items as well.
