Directions for No Sew Fleece Blanket
A quick blanket which is sure to warm you is the no-sew fleece blanket or throw. Because no sewing is required, anyone can make this blanket in less than an hour from two equally sized pieces of fleece material. Typically, one piece will be a solid color and the other will be a pattern or novelty print, such as a cartoon pattern or a sports team's logo. Fleece is an easy fabric to work with and create personalized blankets, baby blankets and simple dog beds.
Things You'll Need
- Tape measure
- Thin cardboard
- Scissors
- 2 fleece sections, 60 inches square

Measure and draw a 5-inch square on a piece of cardboard. Cut out the square to use as a template.

Align the template over each corner of both pieces of fleece and draw on the fabric to mark the square at each corner.

Cut away the drawn squares from each corner of both pieces of fleece until you have eight squares. Set the squares aside for another project or discard them.

Cut 1-inch wide strips, 5 inches long, into one side of the fleece from one corner to the other, until the entire edge is fringed. Cut strips like this on all four sides of both pieces of fleece.

Layer one piece of fleece over the other with the backs, or "wrong" sides, of the fabric pieces touching.

Align the fringes. Start at one corner and pair up the first fringe strip on the top fleece with the first one on the bottom piece. Tie the two strips together in a knot.

Pair the next set of top and bottom fringes and tie them in a knot, as well. Continue down the side, pairing fringes. Work around the four sides until all the fringes are tied to complete your blanket.

Tips & Warnings
If you notice an extra fringe along one side, tie it to one of the other pairs near it so it isn't left loose.
Because of the different length and width grains of fleece fabric, when you are working on sides with fringes that have noticeably more give, only knot the fabric lightly, without pulling hard.
