How to Store a Fountain Pen

It's essential to store fountain pens correctly.

Fountain pens promote comfort when writing and are a great choice if you spend hours each day writing. Fountain pens also help with legibility because of the pen's smoothness. Because fountain pens are made differently than other pens, they must be taken care of to prevent ink from drying inside of them, and this means properly storing them when you are finished using them.

Instructions

1. Store the fountain pen nib (tip) up. Ink will dry in the nib and make writing with the pen difficult in the future if the pen is stored with the nib down.

2. Store the pen in a pencil cup or a holder specifically for pencils and pens.

3. Remove the ink cartridge if you are not going to use the pen for more than a week. The ink will dry in the pen and will potentially ruin it.
