The Dirt Devil Jaguar is a bag-less upright vacuum equipped with a filter that the manufacturer claims catches 99 percent of allergens. The Jaguar's motor drives a belt that rotates the vacuum's brush. Over time, the belt can wear out or become damaged. Instructions

      Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet and allow the vacuum to cool for five minutes if it's been running.

      Lay the vacuum flat on the ground to expose the base of the cleaner. Remove the five screws securing the nozzle guard in place using a flat-head screwdriver. Once all screws are removed, lift the nozzle guard off. You will now have access to the belt.

      Lift and remove the brush roll from the cleaner. The belt should already be broken off, if not, remove it from the end of the brush roll by sliding it off. Discard of the belt.

      Slide the replacement belt onto the motor shaft--stretch the belt onto the end of brush roll where there are no bristles. Place the brush roll back onto the cleaner by pushing it back into place. The brush roll will snap into place and click when it's secure.

      Reattach the nozzle guard by lining up the three tabs in the base slots and pushing the guard securely in place. Replace the five screws and tighten them using the flat-head screwdriver. The vacuum can now be turned upright and is ready for use.
