How to Register a Close Corporation

To register a close corporation, the appropriate documents must be filed in the state of formation. A close corporation may be referred to as a statutory close corporation. As explained on the Citizen Media Law Project website, states such as California, Illinois and Texas have special provisions that allow business owners to start a close corporation. The process to register a close corporation is the same as registering any other type of corporation.
