A key part of a vampire costume is fitted fang teeth

With the rise of such fantasy books and movies as the Twilight series, vampires have become increasingly popular. Though they have always been a favorite subject for costumes and horror movies, interest in portraying vampires has heightened with recent main stream media influences. A pivotal point of a vampire costume that relays authenticity is the vampire tooth. To create a vampire tooth, and even make a fun family craft out of it, use "friendly plastic" found at craft stores. Friendly plastic is a non-toxic molding plastic.

Instructions

  1. Fangs

    • 1

Place a pellet of friendly plastic into a cup.

    • 2

Boil water and fill the cup with the hot water.

    • 3

Scoop the plastic out of the water with a spoon when its color turns from white to a translucent shade, this means it is ready for molding.

    • 4

Mold the plastic into a teardrop shape and press the flatter end onto the canine tooth in your mouth so it molds to your tooth shape. Gently close your teeth together to make sure it still fits with your mouth closed. Remove and let it continue to cool and harden.

    • 5

Repeat the process to create the second fang tooth. As you only have a few minutes of molding time before the plastic cools and hardens, it will be easier to mold one tooth at a time.

    Attire

    • 6

Wear a black cloak, dress or clothing. A graduation gown will be ideal.

    • 7

Add streaks of blood coming from the mouth with red lipstick for an added touch.

    • 8

Add a vintage hat and white or black gloves for added accessories.

Tips & Warnings

  • Once the fangs are cool and hardened, make a cup of tea and allow it to cool. Soak the fangs in the tea water for a few minutes so they are not a pearly white and blend in better with your real teeth. Make sure the tea is cooled so you will not re-mold the teeth.
