1. Visit the website of the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators at www.unclaimed.org.

2. Click on the state in which you live or a state that you have lived in previously.

3. Click on the "Search for unclaimed property" link on the next page. The location of the link will vary depending on the state, but it will appear on the first page in all states.

4. Enter your personal information on the page that comes up. First and last name is generally all that is required.

5. Search the listings carefully. If you locate funds that you believe belong to you, follow the claim directions on the website.
