How to Set DirecTV Channels Via the Internet thumbnail
Over 250 channels are available with DirecTV.

With over 16 million subscribers, DirecTV is the largest satellite television provider in the United States. The company offers an expansive array of high- and standard-definition channels, as well as the variety of features and options that accompany their programming packages. One of those features is the ability to set channels and programs to record on your home DirecTV DVR from any location via the Internet, provided your equipment has that capability.

Instructions

    • 1

Check to see that your particular model of DirecTV DVR supports the DVR Scheduler service. Speak to a DirecTV representative or visit DirecTV.com to see which DVRs have this capability. You can access the model number of your DVR to see if it is on the list.

    • 2

Open your Internet browser and establish a user name and password on DirecTV.com by clicking "Create Account" at the top. This will allow you to manage your account and set the DVR using a computer (or Internet-capable cell phone).

    • 3

Log in any time you wish to record a channel and click "What's on TV," also in the top menu bar, to bring up the channel guide.

    • 4

Browse through the channels listed on the guide and click on the currently-showing or future program to record, and click "Record to Receiver."

    • 5

Set the options for the recording. Ddesignate which DVR to record on (if you have more than one), and click on either "Once" or "Series" and either "Record if Possible" or "Definitely Record," and then click "Record to Recevier" again. The guide will show that the channel and program are now set to record.
