How to Use Crayola Markers for Scrapbooking
Any avid scrapbooker will tell you that you don't need a lot of tools to make fabulous pages, you just need a few basic tools that are versatile. Few scrapbooking tools are as versatile as Crayola markers, which come in an assortment of colors and types, from metallic to glitter finishes, from pastels to jewel tone shades. With markers, you can design your own paper and page elements to suit your style and coordinate with your photographs. When crafting with children, you can feel secure in knowing that Crayola products are nontoxic, and many markers are washable.

There is no shortage of variety with Crayola markers Use only Crayola Metallic FX markers if you are concerned about products being acid-free. If you are working on fun scrapbooking projects with kids but are not concerned about archival quality, any types of Crayola markers can be used.

Make your rubber stamp embellishments colorful with Crayola markers. Instead of using ink pads, color the raised areas on the stamp directly with markers, making each section the color you want it to be, then press the stamp to the page. Wipe the stamp clean with a damp towel before changing the color choices.

Markers give you more control over color than ink pads. Color in your rubber stamp images with Crayola markers to turn outlines into full-color images. Use them to create a background, embellish a corner, page borders or photo mats.

Stencils are an easy way to make your own page designs. Use stencils rather than rubber stamps to create images on your pages. Be creative with the stencil shapes and combine them to make new images. For example, several stenciled hearts in a tight cluster with all the points pointing inward create a flower.

5
Freehand draw on backgrounds and mats with Crayola markers to make your scrapbook truly unique. It doesn't have to be perfect, but it will reflect your personal style better than any store-bought background paper.
-
6
Use broad markers to make page headers or titles. Use fine tipped markers to write captions or journal on your page.
-
7
Have fun with photos. Print copies in black and white on regular paper or cardstock. Color the photo in with Crayola markers for a surreal, artistic look.
