How to Install an HP Laser Jet P2015D on Windows Vista
The HP LaserJet P2015 is a large office printer that is shipped completely assembled, unlike some other printers, which require a little assembly (connecting input and output trays and installing ink cartridges) before they're able to work. The thing about installing this printer, though, is that you have to disassemble it and remove some plastic pieces and then put it back together. The procedure isn't difficult. It's just that disassembling and reassembling is, for most, an unfamiliar way of installing a printer.

1
Unpackage the printer and ensure that the power cable and software installation disc is there. If either is missing, contact HP and alert them to the matter.
-
2
Insert the software installation disc into your computer and follow the instructions in the installation wizard to install the software.
-
-
3
Press the print cartridge door-release button on the top-right corner of the printer and flip the door down.
-
4
Remove the protective paper from the paper output tray.
-
5
Pull the disposable protective cover on the print cartridge straight out of the printer to expose the cartridge.
-
6
Pull out the print cartridge.
-
7
Remove the protective paper from the print cartridge area.
-
8
Remove the small plastic tab on the roller-side of the print cartridge. Just lift it and pull it off.
-
9
Locate the plastic tab on the right side of the print cartridge, bend it and pull it out of the cartridge to remove the tape.
-
10
Rock the cartridge gently to spread out the ink.
-
11
Insert the print cartridge back into its space.
-
12
Close the print cartridge door.
-
13
Pull out the lower paper input tray and adjust the paper guides so that paper fits inside of the tray without moving too much. Fill the tray with paper.
-
14
Close the paper tray.
-
15
Connect the power cable to the connector on the back of the printer and to a power source (wall socket or series circuit).
-
16
Turn the printer on.
-
17
Connect the printer to the computer by inserting one end of a USB cable into the USB port on the printer and the opposite end to a USB port on the computer.
Add the printer to your network by connecting an ethernet cable to the ethernet port on the printer and the network router.
The installation is now complete and the printer is ready for use.
