How to Remove Kaspersky Ndis Miniport

Save

Certain versions of Kaspersky Internet Security and Kaspersky Anti-Virus integrate themselves with the network connection in Windows when they are installed. This feature installs a miniport called an "NDIS filter" on each of the computer's network connections. The purpose of the NDIS filter is to monitor the network communication on your computer and intercept packets that might contain attacks before they can reach your computer. The NDIS filter is not a requirement in order for Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Anti-Virus to protect your computer, although it is required for network packet monitoring. If you find that it causes problems in the operating system or with your network connection, you can remove the Kaspersky NDIS filter from your computer.

Removing the Kaspersky NDIS Filter in Windows XP

  • Click the "Start" button, then click "Control Panel."

  • Double-click "Network Connections." If this icon is not shown, click "Network and Internet Connections," then click "Network Connections."

  • Right-click your primary network connection--normally "Local Area Connection" or "Wireless Network Connection"--and click "Properties."

  • Click "Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS Filter," then click "Uninstall." The filter may have a slightly different name depending on the Kaspersky product that you have installed.

  • Uninstall the Kaspersky NDIS Filter from all of the other network connections displayed in the "Network Connections" window.
