How to Change Photos to Black & White While Putting Color in One Part of the Photo
More than likely you have seen an image where the entire picture is in black and white, except for one small area of color. At one point, rendering this act required countless hours of photo editing and color correction, but now, with the dawn of photo consumer photo-editing software such as CorelDraw and Adobe Photoshop, anyone with a computer can perform this task in only a few minutes.

1
Launch the photo-editing software installed on the computer. All photo-editing products perform this task in the same way.
-
2
Click "File" > "Open" and choose the image you want to turn to black and white.
-
-
3
Click the "Outline" tool on the left side of the screen. This tool allows you to trace around an area of the picture and select it, as if the content is its own file.
-
4
Select the "Image" option, then choose "Color Adjustments" and select "Black and White." The entire picture turns to black and white.
-
5
Position your mouse on a corner of the area you want to keep in color. Click the corner, then move your mouse to the next corner and click again. This creates a connecting line between the two clicks. Repeat this process until the entire area is selected.
-
6
Select the "Image" tab again, then choose "Color Adjustments." Click "Hue Saturation" and adjust the color sliders until the color or the area matches what you are looking for. Click "OK," then save the changes to your picture--"File" > "Save."
