How to Make a Cute Envelope
Plain white envelopes can be boring. This is especially true if you are sending a card, invitation or fun note. Create your own envelopes in just a few minutes, reflecting your or the recipient's personality, or giving a hint to what is inside. Make them in traditional sizes, or go all out and make a really large or really tiny envelope, depending on your needs.
Instructions
-
-
1
Get an envelope that is the same size as the one that you want to create. If you don't have one the correct size, find one as close as possible.
-
2
Open the envelope along all the seams, laying it flat. Be careful when opening the seams that you do not tear the envelope.
-
-
3
Lay the open envelope on top of your chosen paper. Make sure the paper you have chosen is large enough.
-
4
With a pencil, trace the envelope on your paper. If your pattern envelope is not quite large or small enough for your needs, adjust your outline accordingly.
-
5
Cut out your envelope.
-
6
Fold the envelope outline where the folds should be based on your template envelope. Make sure the folds are very sharp and crisp.
-
7
Glue the corners together in the middle where they meet. You can also use double sided tape or photo stickers instead of glue.
-
8
After you have inserted your item in the envelope, glue or tape the top flap down.
