Instructions

    • 1

Use a stud finder to locate the studs in the wall. Mark the location of the studs with a pencil.

    • 2

Place the interior fan template on the wall and trace around it to make an outline. The template is included with the wall exhaust fan.

    • 3

Cut around the outline with the drywall saw. Take out the piece of drywall and set it aside.

    • 4

Place the housing of the fan on the inside of the outer wall and draw a second outline around the inner duct. Make a mark for the location of the screw holes for the fan housing.

    • 5

Drill a hole through the marks you made for the screw holes in Step 4. The holes will be used to align the exterior template.

    • 6

Go to the outside of the house and place the exterior template over the holes you made in Step 5. Trace around the template to make an outline.

    • 7

Cut around the outline with your jigsaw. Take the piece out of the wall and set it aside.

    • 8

Go back to the bathroom and connect the power supply for the fan. Use a screwdriver to secure the green wire to the ground screw. Twist together the white wires and screw on a wire cover. Repeat this step for the black wires.

    • 9

Plug the fan motor into the electrical connection and then mount the fan in the wall. Using the power drill, secure the fan to the wall with screws.

    • 10

Turn on the power to the bathroom and test the fan. Place the cover on the fan to complete the installation.
