Find a program to control your remote access. The simplest way is through online websites that provide the service. Among the free ones are LogMeIn and TightVNC, and some paid providers offer a free trial version.

Sign up for an account at one of these providers, giving them your personal information as needed. You will be required to download software during your account setup. Download the software and run it on your home computer. Provide a password during software setup for your home computer.

Go to a remote computer and open a web browser. Go to the website of the service. Sign in using your username and password. Select your home computer on the screen to log into. Enter the password you provided during home setup. You will now be remotely connected to your home computer.
