How to Remove AVG Antivirus
The AVG Anti-Virus software can be used to detect and remove viruses, spyware and other harmful malware infections that are on your computer. If you are experiencing problems with the AVG Antivirus program or you are ready to begin using a different antivirus program, you will need to remove the AVG software from the computer. Using the "Add/Remove" option on your computer will not completely delete the antivirus software. Downloading and running the proper utility will delete all AVG files from your computer.

Download the update file for your version of AVG Anti-Virus. The exact download link you choose will be determined by several factors (such as your computer's operating system and if you're using the free or subscription version of AVG).

Open the AVG Anti-Virus update file. A window will appear on the screen. Three options will be listed in that window.

Click the circle next to the "Uninstall" option. Then, click the "Next" button. A dialog window will appear.

Click the "Uninstall" or "Next" button in the window (depending on the version of AVG Anti-Virus on your computer). All AVG files and folders will be removed from the computer.

Restart your computer after the AVG uninstall box directs you to do so. AVG Anti-Virus will be removed from your computer.
