How Can I Check on My Local State Refund?
Unfortunately, it often takes longer to receive a state tax refund than it does to receive a federal refund. Waiting for that refund can be tedious if you need the money right away. While there is nothing you can do to speed up the process, you can check on the status of the refund in a few simple steps.
Things You'll Need
- Copy of tax return filed or pertinent refund information

Write down the amount of your expected refund. In order to check on your state refund, you must verify the amount of your refund. You will not be able to proceed without knowing the exact amount.

2
Visit your state's official website. Locate your state's website by entering the state abbreviation, followed by .gov into your browser's address bar. Look for a link that says, "Where's My Refund?" If you can't locate it, search for the term "income tax" in order to find the tax refund section.
