How to Make a Rose Sachet
Add a rose scent to your closets, drawers or any other location in your home with homemade rose sachets. Sachets are small, fabric-covered bags or pouches containing fragrance. They are simple to make with supplies from a craft store and can be made with a rose fragrance or any other fragrance of your choice. Rose sachets make great gifts and are a simple craft project for those who enjoy sewing.

1
Sew a top seam for your sachet bag. Lay the muslin face up and fold the top edge of fabric down 1/4 inch. Press the seam with an iron to keep it in place. Stitch the seam 1/8 inch from the fold using your sewing machine.

2
Place the fabric on a table with the right side facing up. Fold the fabric in half so the raw side faces up and the top seam is aligned. Sew the side and bottom seams 1/4 inch from the raw edge. Turn the sachet bag right side out. Use the eraser end of a pencil to push out the corners.

Tulle is a filmy netting often used in the making of wedding dresses. Fold your tulle fabric in half and sew the side and bottom seams 1/4 inch from the edge. Turn the tulle sack right side out. The tulle is used as an inner sack to hold the potpourri.

Dried rose petals are used to make rose scented potpourri. Scoop rose-scented potpourri into the tulle sack. Tie the tulle closed with one of the ribbon pieces.
-
5
Slip the rose potpourri-filled tulle sack into the muslin bag. Tie the second piece of ribbon around the muslin bag to finish the rose sachet.

Tips & Warnings
Freshen and renew rose-scented sachets with a couple drops of rose oil placed directly on the potpourri.
Give sachets as holiday gifts or party favors at showers, but ensure no one is allergic to fragrance first.
