How to Create Your Own Sim City
SimCity is an innovative game that lets you build a virtual city from the ground up. Although experienced players might be able to quickly transform a little town into a bustling metropolis, for new players, creating a Sim City takes a fair bit of planning and strategy since there are many factors that need to be considered. For instance, you will need to think about where to place residential and industrial areas, when to expand your public service offerings, and when to increase taxes. Although it may seem like a lot to manage at first, there are some basic approaches to the game that anyone can use to help ensure a healthy and prosperous city.

1
Build slowly at first. If you try to build things like hospitals, schools and fire departments too quickly you will only end up draining your initial resources and bankrupting your city. If you have a little patience in the beginning it will pay off later.
-
2
Raise taxes. By raising taxes to about nine or 10 percent right away you can boost your incoming money substantially.

3
Build residential and industrial areas early. These areas are crucial to your city's prosperity so they should be your main focus early in the game. Once your city has grown a little bit, then you can start thinking about developing your commercial districts.

4
Build police and fire departments as your citizens require them. If you start to notice fires sprouting up in your city then it is probably a good time to start building these branches.
-
5
Expand health care cautiously. Since health care isn't usually a big concern early in the game, it's usually a good idea to wait for your budget to expand before building your first hospital or clinic. This way you decrease the risk of putting your city in debt.
-
6
Build public services only as needed. It doesn't make sense to build things that your citizens don't yet need. Try to limit public service spending to only the things that your city's population demands.
-
7
Micromanage your service and utility spending. For example, if your energy plants are producing more power than your city requires, you should try and reduce the money you put towards those energy plants. Keep in mind that, while this helps you match your spending to your needs, the less money you put towards your services and utilities the faster they will become run down and unusable.

Tips & Warnings
If you can maintain a stable tax base it will help you to grow your city's population and expand.
Overspending is not always a bad thing; however, if you fall too far into the negative it can be very difficult to maintain a profitable city.
