If you've burned a CD for a friend or family member you will probably want the label to be just as exciting as the contents. You don't have to settle for a boring disc with a title written in permanent marker. The Microsoft Word 2007 program includes a series of templates for making different kinds of labels, from address labels to CD covers. The templates make it simple to put together a professional label that perfectly covers the top of your CD.
Things You'll Need
- Adhesive CD label paper
Insert the adhesive CD label paper into your printer's paper feed. Open the Microsoft Word 2007 software and click "New."
Scroll through the "Templates" section at the left end of the window and click the "Labels" option. Click the "Media" link at the center panel of the window.
Scroll through the available media labels and locate the specific CD label design you want to use, such as "CD/DVD Face Labels" or "Holiday CD Labels." Double click the label's icon to open a new document with the CD label template.
Click the text box at the top of the CD label template and enter in the title for the CD. Click the text box at the bottom and enter in any additional information, such as the artist name, notes or the track listing.
Click the Microsoft Office icon at the upper left end of the window and choose "Print." Click "OK" to print off the CD label.
Tips & Warnings
- The "Media" section only includes media labels that were installed with Windows 2007. Microsoft has additional CD label templates available for download. Select "New" again and then click the "Microsoft Office Online" entry in the "Templates" section. Type "CD Labels" in the search field to bring up a list of additional CD label templates available for free download. The text boxes included in the template can be resized if they don't give you enough room to include the title and track information you want to use. Click any edge of the text box and drag outwards to resize the box.
