How to Make Easy Paper Airplanes That Are Good to Fly
Paper airplanes are often associated with bored children fooling around in the back of the classroom. But making paper airplanes can be an engaging and fun project for people of all ages. These airplanes can be simple to create and can provide hours of entertainment. While some designs get quite complicated, beginners can easily create the basic arrow plane and slightly more difficult deltry airplane.
Instructions

The Deltry
-
1
Lay a sheet of paper flat in front of you, with the long sides on the left and right. Fold the two long edges together, greeting card-style. Crease the fold firmly and open the paper again so it is flat.
-
2
Fold the top left corner of the paper in toward the center fold, creating a triangle. Repeat with the top right corner and firmly crease these folds. This creates a point at the top of the paper.
-
-
3
Fold the point of the paper down and crease at the bottom edges of the triangles you created in step 2. Firmly press the crease and then fold the point backward so it points toward the top of the paper again. Leave the point about 3/8-inch from the top of the paper.
-
4
Fold the top left corner of the paper in towards the center. You should not disturb the location of the point you made in step 3. The crease for this fold should stop about ¼ inch away from the point. Repeat with the right side of the paper. Crease both triangles firmly and then unfold them.
-
5
Lay your finger across the two triangles you created in step 4. Fold these two triangles in half, creasing the middle line firmly into place. Repeat on both the left and right sides of the paper, and then unfold the paper so you have the same configuration as in step 2, with a greater number of creases.
-
6
Refold the two larger triangles along the same crease you made in step 4. Leave these folded into place this time. Fold downward along the midlines you created in step 5, firmly tucking the points of these two smaller triangles into the original tip of the plane from step 3. This point should hold the tips of the two smaller triangles in place.

7
Create the wings for your deltry plane. Turn the plane over so the top you have been working on faces down and the point of the plane is facing your left. Take the top-rear of the plane and fold it down about 1 inch from the end. Fold the bottom corner of this small section up.
-
8
Turn the plane so that the newly folded section is at the bottom and the point of the plane is facing your right. Repeat step 7. Turn the plane over so the top is facing up again. Grasp the plane by the center fold and throw it to fly.
The Arrow

9
Lay a sheet of paper flat in front of you, with the long sides on the left and right. Fold the two long edges together, like a greeting card. Crease the fold firmly and open the paper so it is flat in front of you.
-
10
Fold the top left corner of the paper in toward the center, creating a triangle. Repeat with the top right corner and firmly crease these folds into place. This creates a point at the top of the paper.
-
11
Grasp the top point of the paper and, slowly working your way down the right side of the paper, fold the outside edge in toward the center. Pull the edge inward until it lines up evenly with the center line; firmly crease this fold. Repeat with the left side of the paper. When both edges are at the center, fold the paper in half along the center line.
-
12
Lay the airplane flat so the point is facing to the right and only one side of the plane is facing you. Grasp the paper between your fingers 1/2 inch from the bottom (the original center line). Fold this piece down so that it creases where your finger is. Press firmly. This forms the right wing.
-
13
Repeat step 4 with the left side of the plane to make the second wing. Grasp the plane by the bottom (the original center line) and toss it forward to make it fly.

Tips & Warnings
Change the way the arrow plane flies by angling the back of the wings up or down.
