How to Do Linear Equations on Sharp Calculators

Linear equations are an important aspect of introductory algebra as well as an important tool for plotting change over the course of several values. Graphing calculators, such as those made by Sharp, allow individuals to quickly generate a visual representation of an equation as well as generate a table of any values for the linear equation. Sharp calculators allow users to input linear equations using the standard function notation for two variable equations on the Cartesian plane.

Instructions

1. Press the enter function key. This key is usually located in the top left corner of the keypad and is designated with the symbols "Y=."

2. Ensure that all previous equations are cleared from the screen.

3. Enter the equation using the traditional effects "f(x)= mx + b" form.

4. Press the "Graph" button located in the same row as the enter function key. This displays the graph for the linear equation you have entered on the screen.
