Crochet a flower corsage.

Crochet a spring flower to serve as a crafty corsage. Choose a bright shade of pink or yellow cotton yarn to celebrate the season. Or line the brim of your favorite straw hat with summery crocheted flowers. Create a deep red flower with a thick, woolen yarn to compliment the winter holidays. A grouping of crochet flowers sewn to a decorative pillow creates a lavish display. Double crochet in fifth chain from end, chain one, skip one. Make a "V" stitch with a double crochet, a chain and another double crochet in the next chain. Repeat "V" stitch 16 times.

    • 3

Chain three and double crochet five stitches in the first "V" chain space. Make a shell with the following series: Single crochet one stitch in the next "V" chain space. Double crochet six stitches in the next "V" chain space.

Make 14 more shells for a total of 16. Fasten yarn off and leave a long tail for anchoring the flower.

    • 5

Thread the tapestry needle with the yarn tail. Insert the needle in the base of the last shell. Roll the shell tightly to create a center flower bud. Make two straight stitches to secure.

    • 6

Roll the remaining strand of shells around the bud and make multiple straight stitches through the foundation chain to secure. Use the diaper pin to pin the flower to your jacket or hat.
