How to Download the Sims 2 Objects to a Game
The "Sims 2" computer game allows you to create your own homes, furniture, wallpaper, floor textures, plants and other items. These items can be shared through online downloads and installed into your "Sims 2" game from websites. Often, a "Sims 2" object file will be compressed into zip format to make the file faster to download. To install new "Sims 2" objects, you will need decompression software, such as WinZip, WinRAR or Zipper.

Download a "Sims 2" game object from a free website such as Mod the Sims, The Sims Resource, Around the Sims 2 or Parsimonious.

Open the folder where you saved your downloaded object. The object will usually be a zip file.

Right-click on the zip file and choose “decompress” or “unzip.”

Choose a folder on your computer where you want to create the new decompressed folder.

Open the decompressed folder. "Sims 2" object files will usually have a ".package" file extension.

Right-click the ".package" file and select “copy” from the menu.

Navigate to your "Sims 2" “Downloads” folder. By default, this will be located inside of the "Sims 2” folder in your computer’s “My Documents.”

Launch the "Sims 2" game to see your new downloaded object. You should be able to purchase it like you do all other objects in the game.

Tips & Warnings
If there is more than one file in your object's zip folder, you will need to copy all of them to your "Sims 2" "Downloads" folder.
