How to Light Incense Cones

Light an incense cone in your room.

An incense burner is a ceramic device that houses a cone-shaped piece of incense. The burner filters the incense into a specific area, forcing the incense cone to direct its scent toward one location, instead of just burning off and expelling into multiple areas. Lighting an incense cone is slightly different from lighting a stick of incense, as it does not have an exact starting and ending location. It only takes a moment to learn the proper procedure for lighting a cone, and you may find it as simple as lighting a stick of incense.

Things You'll Need

• Incense cone
• Match
• Incense burner

Instructions

1. Hold the incense cone by the fat end and hold it down so the smaller tip is facing the ground.

2. Light the match or ignite the lighter.

3. Hold the incense cone's tip into the lit flame. Once the incense cone begins to flame remove it from the match/lighter.

4. Blow out the flame on the incense. The cone begins to smoke and give off its designed aroma.

5. Place the incense cone into the incense burner.
