Instructions

    • 1

Put the hanging file folders in the file cabinet. They have metal hooks on either side that hang over the rail that is built in the file cabinet.

    • 2

Write the name of each hanging file on the name tabs included in the box of hanging files. There are paper inserts for labeling. Hand write or use the label maker to put the name on the paper insert. Insert the paper strip into the plastic name tab. Each tab has lips on the bottom to insert into slots on the hanging files. These are your master subjects, for example: "Household," "Medical," "Taxes," "School," "Appliance Manuals."

    • 3

Put file folders inside each hanging file. Write or use the label maker to put the name of each sub-file on the top tab. These files will be broken down by subject. Under "Household" put "Utilities," "Charge Cards," "Repairs" and anything you have to keep up with to run your household.
