How to Tie Back Hang Curtains
Curtains add decoration and color to rooms, provide privacy and keep sunlight at bay during the warmest parts of the day. However, most homeowners like to open their curtains at some point. This is where tiebacks come in handy. Tiebacks consist of small strips of fabric, decorative cords or even strings of beads that hold curtains to the side of a window. These items can add decoration to a room and are very simple to use. Some curtains come with custom tiebacks but you can make your own tie backs easily. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Hammer a small finishing nail into the wall about ¼ inch away from the left side of the window frame and about 6 inches above the window sill. Hold the nail at a 45 degree angle and tap lightly until half of the nail disappears. Repeat this process on the other side of the window.

2
Part your curtains to either side as far as they will go. If your curtains came with tiebacks, simply slip one of the loops at the end of the tieback over the left finishing nail. Bring the tieback behind the left curtain and loop it around the front, slipping the other loop over the finishing nail also. Repeat on the right side.

Make your own tiebacks if your curtains didn't come with them. Make a small loop in the end of a piece of wire and string some beads onto it or tie a loop into the ends of a twisted silk cord or pretty scarf. Repeat step 2 with any of these options.
