How to Change a Padlock Combination
A padlock combination has a dial on the front that allows you to rotate the dial to the right or left to the appropriate number to open the lock. The manufacturer has a standard combination number that is given for each lock. If you lost or forgotten your combination number, you can reset your combination padlock, as long as your padlock is in the "unlocked" position. Does this Spark an idea?

Turn the collar halfway around in the clockwise position until it stops rotating. The collar is the long U-shape piece that connects to the padlock.

Insert the reset lever in the keyhole located on the back of the padlock and turn the lever clockwise. The reset lever comes with the lock package and is needed to manually reset the combination numbers on the lock.

Choose your combination numbers. Turn the dial to your desire combination that is not easily known; such as avoiding birthdays or addresses.

Turn the reset lever counter clockwise, and remove it from the back of the padlock. Rotate the collar counter clockwise back in its original position. Test your new combination a few times to make sure it works.
