How to Uninstall Bootcamp

Uninstalling a Boot Camp partition removes whatever version of Microsoft Windows you installed on the partition and erases any files and applications in that location. When you created the Boot Camp partition and installed Windows on it, you divided the hard drive of your computer into two volumes. Removing the Boot Camp partition returns the hard drive to a single partition, according to the Apple website.

  • Start up your computer in OS X and log on. Close any applications that open automatically when you log in.

  • Open the “Applications” folder and open the “Utilities” folder. Double-click “Boot Camp Assistant.”

  • Click the bubble next to “Restore the startup disk to a single volume.” Click “Continue” to uninstall the Boot Camp partition.
