How to Make a Movie From Digital Photos thumbnail
A movie made from your digital photos can be easily uploaded online.

When you make a movie using a slideshow of your digital photos, you can customize the music, transition and visual effects according to the theme and mood of your photos. The main advantage to making your photo slideshow into a movie format, is that it is easy to access compatible software that you can use to burn the movie to a DVD and play it in computers and DVD players. It also provides many options for uploading the file to online video sites like Youtube and social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace and Multiply.

Instructions

    • 1

Select the software that you will use to convert the photos into a movie. You have two options: you can use a photo/imaging software like Photo Movie Creator or iPhoto; or use a video editing software like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or Sony Vegas. Download and install the software that you choose.

Open the software. Import or open the photos that you want to include in the movie. Drag the photos to the photo or video track and arrange them in the order that you want them to appear.

    • 3

Choose the audio that you want to use. Put it in the audio selection of your photo/imaging software or into the audio track of your video editing software.

    • 4

Complete your audio and video settings. Some programs only give you limited options for basic transition and visual effects. The length of screen time for each photo depends on the running time of the audio that you select. Other programs provide more options including complete control of the order and length of screen time that each photo appears in the movie, editing the sound and music that you want, adding animated and graphic elements, choosing photo frames and other backgrounds and adding thematic introductions and credits to the movie.

    • 5

Export your slideshow to a movie. If you're using a photo/imaging software, you can readily find the "Export" button from within the interface of the program or under the "File" menu. If you're using a video editing software, you can find the "Export" button by clicking "File" and selecting "Export" or any similar command in the menu options referring to the process of exporting the project to a movie.

    • 6

Decide where you want to save the movie file on your computer. You will be prompted to select the path where you want the movie file to be saved in your computer or external hard drive. Depending on the software used, you can also configure advanced settings such as changing the video resolution, compression options, codes, video frame rate, movie resizing options, audio sample rate and audio channel. You might prefer to keep the default settings.
