Photo portraits are one of the most popular types of photography. These photos preserve what a person looked like at a particular time for all time. Sometimes the subject would rather that this was not the case. And they often will ask a graphics artist to retouch the image in Photoshop to remove or repair an offending feature. But even if you are not a professional, if you you have access to Photoshop you can quickly make alterations to fix things like wrinkles, double chins or pimples or birthmarks.

Instructions

    • 1

Load the image that you want to Photoshop onto your computer, either by copying it from your camera or by scanning in a print.

    • 2

Open Photoshop. Select "File" from the menu and click "Open." In the dialog box that appears, locate the image that you loaded and open it.

    • 3

Choose a blemish like a pimple or birthmark that you want to remove. Select the "Clone Stamp" tool from the tools. Hold down the "ALT" key and click near the blemish you want to remove. Then draw over it. Photoshop will cover it with pixels from the point that you clicked.

Select "Filter" from the menu and choose "Liquefy." In the dialog that appears, choose the "Push" tool. In the settings on the right, make the size of the tool slightly smaller than the double chin you want to remove. Adjust the strength to about 50 percent. Then use the tool to push the chin upward and inward. Click "OK."
