How to Create an Association in the Folder Options Control Panel for Windows Explorer
File associations in Windows determine which program opens when you double-click a file icon in Windows Explorer. Windows Explorer has a configuration screen that allows you to change these file associations. This is beneficial, for example, if you have installed new software and want to associate it with several file extensions.
