How to Draw a Ferrari
Ferraris are known to many people as a type of expensive Italian sports cars. Ferrari makes race cars and road cars, all characterized by low, lightweight, aerodynamic bodies--most commonly available in red. When drawing a Ferrari, look at a picture of one for the most realistic results.

1
Select a picture of the Ferrari you wish to draw. Pictures can be found online by typing "Ferrari" into search engines such as Yahoo! and Google. Automobile-centric magazines and even car posters are a good source of photographs. Select a picture that is high-resolution, relatively large, and in focus.

2
Outline the body of the car in a light line that can easily be changed or erased. Use a 3H or 4H pencil for lighter lines. Make sketch marks if necessary, but be prepared to erase them later--the final outline of the car should be made with long, continuous lines. Start at the nose of the car and move in a clockwise or counter clockwise fashion from the hood to the windshield, roof, rear, and under carriage, until you're back where you started. The hood and rear will level out to a near-horizontal line, while the windshield and rear window will slant.

3
Draw the major details of the car. Start in the top of the body and systematically work your way down. This will include the side window, the outline of the windshield and rear window, the sides of the door, and the swoop of the air vents present in most Ferraris. This will also include the wheels. In most cases, the wheels will come up high on the side of the car, because the body of the car is so low. Draw the round outline of the front and rear tires. Again, draw lightly if you need to draw sketch marks, then darken them later.
-
4
Step back from your drawing and examine your work. Make changes as necessary. If you're having trouble deciding what looks wrong, squint your eyes, or even turn the drawing and photograph upside down, for a fresh view of your picture.
-
5
Darken your outlines with a darker pencil (2B, 3B or 4B). Remember to make these lines confident and unbroken. Erase the lighter sketch lines.
-
6
Add finer details to the car, moving from the top of the body down. This should include headlights, side mirrors, hubcaps and the interior of the car. You may sidestep drawing the interior of the car by drawing the glare on the windows. Glare may be represented by diagonal lines. Don't forget to draw the Ferrari logo, often seen on both the front and the sides. The Ferrari logo may be a yellow rectangle or a yellow shield around a horse rearing on its hind legs.
