Decide how you want to position the picture light. There are different ways to hang it: You can clip it to the top or bottom frame of the art, or attach it to the wall above the piece. Clipping to the frame is the simplest way. Direct the light onto the piece of art. If you want it on the wall above, hammer a nail 2 inches above the top of the picture frame. Hang the light on the nail. Direct the light down on the art. Decide which way you wish to spotlight your art.

Put the electrical cord behind or below the picture, according to where you put the picture light. The cord should hang down the center of the picture going down to the electrical outlet.

Attach the cord cover to the wall over the electrical cord from the bottom of the picture frame down to the floor. The edges of the cord cover have little spikes that nail into the wall. Paint the cord cover the exact color of the wall to blend in.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can have an electrician put in a new outlet behind the artwork if you don't want to use a cord cover and existing outlet. There also are battery-powered lights available.
