Instructions

    • 1

Measure and pinpoint the location on the doors where you want the knobs. Locate knobs about 1-inch from the edge of the doors. They should be centered on frame boards if your cabinet doors are framed. Along the edge, knobs can be placed in the center of the doors or they can be placed below center, up to 3 inches from the bottom edge, on high cabinets, and above center, up to 3 inches from the top edge on low cabinets. They should be at a point that can be comfortably reached. Place a dot with a pencil or a marker on each door where the knob will go.

Drill a hole at each marked point using a drill with a drill bit that is the same diameter as the screws that came with the knobs.

    • 3

Screw the knobs to the doors. Screw a knob to a door by centering the knob on the hole at the front of the door, pushing the screw through the back of the door and tightening the screw with a screwdriver.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have woodworking tools, a jig can be made to ensure that each knob is consistently placed. A jig is a plywood sleeve with a hole drilled through it that fits over the cabinet doors and serves as a master guide for drilling holes in the doors.
