How to Insert a Hyperlink in Powerpoint

How to Insert a Hyperlink in Powerpoint thumbnail
You can embed hyperlinks into your Powerpoint presentations.

With Microsoft Powerpoint, you aren't restricted to displaying text in your presentations. Instead, you have the ability to enhance your presentation by embedding external resources into your presentation. For example, you can embed images, video files and hyperlinks to external Web pages. If you've never embedded a hyperlink into one of your Powerpoint presentations, you can do so without any knowledge of HTML.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Microsoft Powerpoint. Click "Start," "All Programs" and "Microsoft Powerpoint."

    • 2

Open an existing presentation or create a new presentation.

    • 3

Click on a slide from the left column where you want to insert a hyperlink. The slide content appears in the main viewing pane on the right side of the window.

    • 4

Click the "Insert" tab at the top of Powerpoint. Click "Hyperlink" in the "Links" group. A hyperlink dialog box appears.

    • 5

Select a link type from the left column. You can choose from "Existing file or webpage," "Place in this document" or "Email address."

    • 6

Locate the destination file, slide or Web page you want to link to. Click "OK" to save your link. The link displays in your Powerpoint presentation.
