How to Eliminate Odors in Bathroom Sinks

Save

Odors emanate from a build-up of debris in your sink. Baking soda can help absorb odors and remove what is causing the odor. It is abrasive enough to remove dirt without scratching surfaces, making it safe to use on virtually all sinks. Baking soda is also safe to go down your sink drain and will help remove odors inside of the pipes.

Things You'll Need

  • Baking soda
  • Sponge
  • Remove any odor-causing debris from the sink.

  • Turn on the faucet. Splash water onto the entire surface of the sink, including the faucet, with your hands.

  • Sprinkle baking soda on all surfaces of the sink, including the faucet. The baking soda will combine with the water to make a paste. Let the paste sit on the sink for an hour.

  • Wet a sponge. Wipe the baking soda off the sink with the sponge. Rinse out the sponge frequently.

  • Rinse the baking-soda residue down the drain with water.
