How to Hook an XBox to a Motorola DVR

While hooking up an Xbox and a Motorola digital video recorder (DVR) to a television is generally not a difficult task, a problem can arise when there are not enough input ports on a television to accommodate all of your devices. In this case, you can still connect your Xbox to your television by connecting it to your DVR. This way, the Xbox will still be able to communicate with your television, using your Motorola DVR as an intermediary.

Instructions

1. Connect the Xbox end of your Xbox component cable to the available port on the back of your Xbox.

2. Connect the component ends of your Xbox component cable to the component input ports on the back of your DVR.

3. Turn your television, Xbox and DVR on to ensure that the devices are working properly.

4. Press the "video" or "input" buttons on your DVR remote to send the DVR into video mode. You should now be viewing the Xbox signal on your TV, as it is being sent through your DVR.
